I found the “Currin Trading” story linked in the Bitcoin article — http://web.archive.org/web/20091026234156/http://geocities.com/currintrading/ — totally gripping. It’s a first person report on running a ponzi in an online game, although the behavioural dynamics are likely very close to what happens in “real” markets. Highly recommended.
